Foxconn to hire 100,000 workers for iPhone 6 production

BEIJING -- Foxconn, a subsidiary of Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry, is getting ready to take on around 100,000 factory workers to manufacture Apple's iPhone 6, according to the Chinese media.

     The number is significantly higher than the 90,000 employed for the rollout of the iPhone 5s, the latest Apple smartphone.

     Production could start as early as July.
