Asia's chat apps are calling
Three Asian mobile messaging services -- Japan's Line, China's WeChat and South Korea's KakaoTalk -- are jostling to take the lead in the race for global prominence. These chat applications have already established overwhelming dominance in their respective domestic markets. At stake now is a priceless foothold in overseas markets, most notably Southeast Asia. But without a home court advantage, can any of these Asian contenders outstrip the likes of Facebook and other U.S. social networks?
