Look around, there's a lot of fashion in Asia
Walk the boulevards of any big Asian city on a weekend and you're bound to notice something: There is some pretty awesome fashion sharing your sidewalk. Tokyo might still be Asia's style capital, but these days the whole region has caught the cool bug. Designers from Taipei and Bangkok are making themselves heard, their voices not only being amplified by shows like Tokyo Fashion Week but by tourists who, once they get home, rave about the clothes they found on vacation.
Young, native designers do not have Asia's growing middle classes to themselves. The global fast-fashion chains seem to be racing one another to open stores across the region. The Great Asia Fashion Mall, it seems, has opened.
