China Mobile finally makes 4G users its core customers

HONG KONG -- China Mobile, the world's largest mobile carrier by users, reported better-than-expected results for the first half Thursday on strong adoption of its fourth-generation services and soaring data traffic.

Net profit for the six months ended in June rose 5.6% on the year to 60.57 billion yuan ($9.12 billion). Operating revenue gained 7.1% to 370.35 billion yuan, while average revenue per user ticked up 3.3% to 62 yuan.
