Malaysian shares edge higher tracking Wall Street, Singapore slips

KUALA LUMPUR (NewsRise) -- Malaysian shares rose for a third session Wednesday, buoyed by an overnight rally on Wall Street and as mobile operator Axiata Group extended gains.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 0.2% to 1,683.93, its highest since September. Axiata advanced 1.5% to 4.91 ringgit, its fourth straight gain, as the stock continues to find buying interest after it trimmed its stake in edotco last week.
