Malaysian stocks, ringgit rise as Fed minutes lift region

KUALA LUMPUR (NewsRise) - Malaysian shares rose to two-month highs and the ringgit advanced for the first time in seven sessions, as U.S. Treasury yields and the dollar retreated after the Federal Reserve's December meeting minutes.

The nation's benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 0.8% to 1,659.82, its highest level since Nov. 8.
