Chinese apparel robot startup secures $1.4m in angel round

Sewingtech looks to cutting-edge tech to solve labor shortage, trim costs

BEIJING -- Chinese startup Sewingtech, which develops robots to automate garment production, has raised more than 10 million yuan ($1.39 million) in an angel round, 36Kr has learned.

The funding was led by the tech investment fund of Chinese venture capital company Sinovation Ventures. The money raised will be spent on research and development of products, among other things.
