BEIJING -- As automated cooking robots become a fad in China, Chinese food tech startup Botinkit has been targeting the labor-intensive restaurant industry and making forays overseas, including Japan and Southeast Asia.

Botinkit has raised about $10 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The co-investors are Dato Capital and Clearwater Bay Investment, with additional funding from investors such as 01VC and Hina Group. This was the company's second fundraising this year.
