BEIJING -- Gongye Technology, a Chinese startup that has developed equipment to sort garbage using artificial intelligence, has raised a total of around 100 million yuan ($1.6 million) in two recent rounds of funding.

The company raised the money from two investors -- China Growth Capital in the Angel funding round and Matrix Partners China in the pre-Series A funding round.
