BEIJING -- Shenzhen Dauxi Vision Technologies, a unit of Shenzhen Daoxiang Electrical Technology set up in 2016, makes ultrasonic sensors for robots. The Chinese company currently offers more than 20 types of vision products, mainly for use in robots and industrial and medical equipment. Its total sales have topped 500,000 units.

Shenzhen Dauxi Vision Technologies develops sensors that measure distance using ultrasonic waves. The sensors can determine whether there is an obstacle in the path of a robot to prevent collisions. Compared with light detection and ranging (lidar) sensors that use lasers, ultrasonic sensors are cheap and easy to operate. They can also spot even transparent objects.
