TOKYO -- Japan's IHI will team up with Northrop Grumman of the U.S. in the business of monitoring suspicious satellites, hoping to sell the American defense company's surveillance satellites to the Japanese government by adding its own analysis technology, Nikkei has learned.

IHI's move highlights that Japanese companies are moving to collaborate with U.S. companies in space security.
