TOKYO -- Industrial machinery maker Japan Steel Works has secured a contract from the Defense Ministry to produce armored vehicles for the Self-Defense Forces, part of Japan's efforts to bolster its domestic defense supply chains.
The order is worth an estimated 10 billion yen ($65 million).
