TOKYO -- Japanese satellite operator Sky Perfect JSAT Holdings plans to put 10 Earth observation satellites into low Earth orbit in 2027, tapping into security-related demand driven by mounting geopolitical and disaster risks.
The first satellite is slated for launch in late 2026 to early 2027. The satellites will orbit at altitudes of around 150 kilometers to 2,000 km, circling the Earth roughly every 90 minutes. Sky Perfect JSAT will coordinate their paths to cover the planet's entire surface.
