TOKYO -- Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is withdrawing from the domestic jetliner business, halting the public-private initiative aimed at developing a local industry, Nikkei has learned.
The company is expected to announce the decision on Tuesday. According to sources, Mitsubishi Heavy will also liquidate the subsidiary related to this business, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp.
