Hitachi tech tools bring Australian banana into digital era

TOKYO -- Hitachi will help an Australian banana farm digitally transform its entire operation, from production to distribution, using such cutting-edge technologies as the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence to improve the farm's efficiency and productivity.

Hitachi's U.S. IT unit, Hitachi Vantara, will support the digital transformation of Bartle Frere Bananas, a banana farm in the northeastern Australian state of Queensland, with its digital "Smart Farm" solutions.
