Apple touch module supplier joins up with Chinese rival O-film

TPK Holding shifts stance due to competition, supply glut as sector consolidates

TPK Holding relies on Apple for more than 50% of its revenue.

TAIPEI -- TPK Holding, a key touch module supplier for iPhones, Macbooks and iPads, said Tuesday it had reached agreement with its longtime Chinese rival Shenzhen O-film Tech to invest in each other, develop new technologies together and to share customers as the sector consolidates.

"We are absolutely complementary for each other," Freddie Liu, TPK's chief financial officer, told reporters. "90% of our revenue comes from American and European customers while 90% of O-film's customers are from China."
