TOKYO -- Japan's Honda Motor and Nissan Motor are set to announce merger talks on Monday, driven by the auto industry's fast-moving race to electrification and software integration.
The question is whether two rivals with very different backgrounds -- in terms of history, corporate values, strengths and financial performance -- can really work together at the nimble pace required to keep up with the competition.
