China's Great Wall drops bid to buy Nissan's Barcelona plant

Japanese automaker vets other suitors to advance restructuring plan

TOKYO -- China's Great Wall Motor has withdrawn from talks to acquire Nissan Motor's auto assembly factory in Barcelona, the Japanese carmaker said in a statement.

Nissan had announced the negotiations in October, looking to reach an agreement before the plant is set to close at the end of the year.
