HONG KONG -- Chinese electric vehicle maker Neta Auto is scrambling to reverse a crisis that has sparked pay cuts, layoffs, production disruptions, lawsuits and the recent departure of its CEO.

With sales stuck below targets, the series of setbacks has cast doubt on Neta's planned public listing in Hong Kong and raised concerns among analysts over the company's future in the cutthroat Chinese EV sector.
