TOKYO -- Honda Motor seeks to boost its electric motorcycle business in India by offering used batteries as power sources in rural villages lacking utility infrastructure.

The Japanese automaker showcased the Activa e, a new e-scooter with swappable batteries, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo this month in New Delhi. Deliveries are to begin in phases in February.
