Betting on electrification, Japanese company aims for top in growing market

TOKYO -- Honda Motor announced Tuesday that it will open a factory dedicated to electric motorcycles in India in 2028, aiming to raise its profile in a South Asian market with high growth potential.

The Japanese company is planning to build its electric motorcycle factory at an existing production base in the southern Indian city of Bengaluru. It did not disclose details, such as the value of the investment, the size of the new factory, or its capacity.
