JAKARTA -- State-backed Indonesia Battery Corp. is looking to forge new partnerships with Japanese and South Korean companies while advancing its joint projects with Chinese battery giant CATL.

Toto Nugroho, chief executive of IBC, told Nikkei Asia that securing such collaborations "will be key to supplying the U.S. market" in the backdrop of Donald Trump's return to the U.S. presidency and his fresh tariff threats against China.
