BANGKOK -- Japanese trading house Marubeni will launch a fleet management service for commercial electric vehicles in Thailand in partnership with Banpu, the country's largest coal company, anticipating long-term demand growth as EVs gain ground.

The trading house will as early as next month create a company for the venture, Prime Mobility, together with Banpu and Japan's Fuyo General Lease. Marubeni will be the largest shareholder, with Banpu Next, a renewable energy subsidiary of Banpu, holding a stake as well.
