TOKYO -- Mazda Motor aims to respond to the global EV revolution by forming partnerships and adopting production innovations that will allow it to put a new electric vehicle in showrooms by 2027.

The Hiroshima-based automaker on Tuesday announced a plan dubbed "Lean Asset Strategy" through which it intends to reduce its asset burden and increase its asset utilization.
