TOKYO -- Japan's Mitsubishi Chemical Group and Asahi Kasei are both partially suspending plans to expand output of electric vehicle battery materials due to the slowdown in EV demand.

Mitsubishi Chemical is postponing projects to expand battery electrolyte factories in the U.S. and the U.K. The original plan was to roughly double capacity in each location.
