SOTA TANAKA

TOKYO -- Electric-vehicle maker Tesla is enjoying brisk sales in Japan, a rare bright spot for the company as it faces boycotts elsewhere due to the backlash against CEO Elon Musk.

Tesla does not break down its sales by region. But its Japanese sales can be estimated using data from the Japan Automobile Importers Association. Teslas constitute most of the vehicles under the "others" category in the association's brand-based sales figures.
