GUANGZHOU/SAO PAULO -- Top Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD doubled its overseas sales volume for the nine months to September, with gains in Brazil and Southeast Asia offsetting setbacks in Europe.

BYD sold 298,000 vehicles outside of China. Sales in China grew 27% on the year to 2.43 million vehicles.
