PLANO, Texas -- Toyota Motor is revising its electric-vehicle strategy in the U.S., planning to launch more models and use a new naming scheme as it sees a chance to capture market share amid Tesla's deep slump.

Toyota is unveiling five EV models for the North American market this week. The Japanese automaker now sells just two EV models in the U.S. -- a number that will more than double after this year, including revamps of current models.
