SHANGHAI -- Top American automaker General Motors showed off a lavish new electric vehicle at the China International Import Expo here this week as it courts the country's wealthy.
GM plans to sell the Cadillac Celestiq through an online imported-vehicle platform introduced in September. The so-called Durant Guild is named after GM founder William Durant and targets a younger generation of affluent Chinese. It uses such services as the massively popular messaging app WeChat.
