JAKARTA -- South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor and Chinese rival Wuling are optimistic their electric vehicle sales in Indonesia will grow this year, as more companies unveil EV brands on expectations of increasing demand in Southeast Asia's biggest economy.

EV offerings on display at the Indonesia International Motor Show, which opened on Thursday in Jakarta, showed a sector ready for takeoff in the populous nation.
