SEOUL -- Hyundai Motor plans to spend a record 6.7 trillion won ($4.6 billion) on research and development this year, looking to invest heavily in technologies like AI-assisted autonomous driving amid geopolitical and business headwinds.
"Hyundai Motor Group is exploring innovative approaches with AI technologies in various fields such as robotics, autonomous driving and smart factory," said Executive Vice President Kim Heung-soo at the CES tech trade show in Las Vegas last month.
