TOKYO -- South Korea's Hyundai Motor on Friday began a test-drive campaign with Japanese convenience store FamilyMart, aiming to draw on the retail chain's familiarity among local consumers as way to connect with potential customers.

The collaboration will see Hyundai Mobility Japan, the company's local unit, park its latest electric vehicle model, the Inster, at the parking lots of FamilyMart, one of three major convenience store chains in Japan, where the vehicles can be easily taken for a test-drive.
