Japan's Nidec to build $66m automotive motor plant in India

Company targets electrical components to capture demand in world's 3rd-largest auto market

KYOTO, Japan -- Nidec will set up a factory for automotive-use motors in India at an investment of around 10 billion yen ($66.4 million), Nikkei has learned.

The plant will produce around 10 types of motors for electrical components, including power steering, brake systems and pumps. It will begin operation in the state of Rajasthan in 2027.
