TOKYO -- European automaker Stellantis will on Thursday lower prices in Japan by as much as 500,000 yen ($3,500) for models across six major brands including Jeep and Peugeot, hoping to boost sales as slowing demand for electric vehicles and U.S. tariffs weigh on other markets.
The move, which applies only in Japan, is the company's first such broad-based price cut in the country, and comes even as the auto industry grapples with rising labor and material costs.
