Mitsubishi Fuso to abandon combustion engine trucks, buses by late 2030s

Japan vehicle maker aims to catch Chinese and European rivals in EV market

TOKYO -- Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus will stop selling combustion engine vehicles in the latter half of the 2030s, when it will start producing only electric or hydrogen-fueled trucks and buses, Nikkei has learned.

The move to all battery or hydrogen fleets will be the first by a major Japanese commercial vehicle maker.
