TOKYO -- Nissan Motor's board of directors has decided to reshuffle its executive committee, aiming to accelerate its restructuring effort, which includes cutting 9,000 jobs globally, as it struggles to improve its poor business performance.

Chief Financial Officer Stephen Ma will be placed in charge of China operations, and Jeremie Papin, now head of Americas operations, will become CFO. Papin's current role will be filled by Christian Meunier, who oversaw the Jeep brand for Stellantis until 2023. Meunier previously led Nissan's high-end Infiniti brand.
