TOKYO -- Nissan Motor has moved to slash its workforce and production capacity as it struggles to break out of an earnings slump that may require shaking up its corporate culture.
The Japanese automaker said Thursday it would cut 9,000 jobs worldwide and lowered its profit forecast for a second time this fiscal year. It will reduce its global production capacity by around 20%.
