SEOUL -- South Korean energy company SK Innovation said Monday that it will build an automotive battery plant in Turkey with Ford Motor and local group Koc Holding, aiming to begin mass production in 2025.

The joint venture facility near Ankara will have an annual production capacity of 30 to 45 gigawatt-hours, enough to make batteries for 500,000 to 750,000 electric vehicles. These batteries will be supplied mainly to autos made by the Ford group in Europe.
