Sony, Honda in EV partnership, aiming to launch first car in 2025

Both say still open to links with other companies and industries

TOKYO -- Sony Group and Honda Motor are forming a joint venture to develop electric vehicles, with the aim of marketing their first in 2025, the companies announced Friday.

"We have shared our desires to try something new... We are glad to find such a wonderful partner," said Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida at a news conference held jointly with Honda CEO Toshihiro Mibe.
