TOKYO -- Subaru sees potential to increase U.S. production in response to President-elect Donald Trump's threats to impose a uniform 10% tariff on all imports, the Japanese automaker's president and CEO told Nikkei and other media on Wednesday.

"There is room to expand production in the U.S.," Atsushi Osaki said during the interview in Tokyo. Subaru exports many of its vehicles for the U.S. market from Japan.
