PALO ALTO, California -- Tesla has unveiled its highly anticipated robotaxi, a milestone for the company as it looks to transition away from pure automaking amid mounting tariff pressures and rising competition.

After nearly an hour delay, Tesla CEO Elon Musk appeared on stage at the Warner Brothers movie studio in Los Angeles on Thursday night, riding a two-door, silver robotaxi prototype dubbed the Cybercab.
