NEW YORK -- Toyota Motor will require workers at its North American headquarters to return to the office four days a week beginning in September, hoping to spark more interactions and productivity.

The change will apply to all salaried employees at Toyota's North American headquarters and the North American division of Toyota Financial Services, with some exceptions for certain jobs. The Japanese automaker said failure to comply could result in termination.
