NAGOYA, Japan -- Toyota Motor finished a 24-hour endurance race using a car powered by an engine fueled by liquid hydrogen, achieving this breakthrough last weekend after falling short in two previous years.

The automaker, which held the event from Saturday through Sunday, also for the first time displayed hydrogen-powered construction vehicles at the race venue as part of its effort to promote hydrogen use.
