TOKYO -- Blackstone has agreed to acquire Tokyo-listed Infocom, a leading provider of digital comic books, in an estimated 260 billion yen ($1.66 billion) deal, sources said.

Japanese materials maker Teijin, which owns 55% of Infocom, has granted preferential negotiating rights for the shares to Blackstone. The U.S. asset manager plans to acquire Teijin's entire stake in a tender offer, taking Infocom private.
