TOKYO -- Fujifilm Holdings and Konica Minolta are exploring a business alliance to consolidate their global procurement of parts and materials for making multifunction office equipment and printers, the Japanese companies said Monday.

They will discuss establishing a joint venture by the end of September, with Fujifilm subsidiary Fujifilm Business Innovation expected to own the majority of the new company.
