TOKYO -- Japanese general contractor Shimizu has acquired all shares of a Singapore-based contractor that handles store interiors for European and U.S. luxury brands, aiming to lay the groundwork for new business in Southeast Asia.
The acquisition of Grandwork Interior was announced by the Singaporean company on Friday. The amount was not disclosed but is thought to be in the billions of yen (1 billion yen equals $6.5 million)
