TOKYO -- The operator of discount chain Don Quijote will acquire all shares of U.S. sushi chain Mikuni Restaurant Group, the Japanese company said Friday, as it looks to bolster its overseas sushi business using the target's know-how in sourcing ingredients.

A U.S. restaurant chain under Pan Pacific International Holdings (PPIH) will acquire Mikuni for an undisclosed price. The acquisition of shares is expected to take place in early April.
