Motor supplier's newest acquisition in field offer ties to American automakers

KYOTO, Japan -- Nidec has bought U.S. press machine equipment manufacturer Automatic Feed and two affiliated companies from their founding family, the Japanese motor maker said on Wednesday, in a bid to expand its related business in the North American market.

The acquired companies, based in the Midwestern state of Ohio, have 80 employees in total and consolidated sales of $37 million for 2022. The purchase amount was not disclosed.
