Japan's Oki to join Ricoh-Toshiba alliance in office machine business

Move is part of drive to streamline management, reduce geopolitical risk

TOKYO -- Japan's Oki Electric Industry will join the alliance of Ricoh and Toshiba in the office machine business, Nikkei has learned.

Oki's printer production and development division will be added to Yokohama-based Etria, a company that merged Ricoh's and Toshiba's production and development. The three companies will use each other's production bases and technology to reduce geopolitical risks and streamline management.
