TOKYO -- Nissan Motor President Makoto Uchida met Honda Motor President Toshihiro Mibe on Thursday and notified him that Nissan is suspending its merger talks with Honda.

On Thursday morning, executives from both companies, including the presidents, met in Tokyo. Uchida directly informed Mibe of the halt to the merger talks.
